Chicken & Waffles

In England we don't have that. Chicken. And waffles together? I'm confused. Let me know.

Inspired by working with Edu-K, Colombian Londoner Isa GT, has combined the choppy trance riddims of champeta with bass rumblings of baile funk to simply create FUNKETA. Genius.

Border Control

If you've noticed that Colombia hasn't been getting on too well with Venezuela & Ecuador lately, you may also have noticed that a massive Peace concert was held at the weekend as an aid to help pacify the current situation. Paz Sin Fronteras was held actually ON the border of Colombia & Venezuela, on the Simon Bolivar bridge over a dried-up river bed. It was held by and starred Juanes performing in front of tens of thousands from both countries. In principle thats 1 point for music being used as a tool for positivity and 0 points for haircuts/money that the UK music industry seems to be more concerned with. In other news, Thanks Gordon Brown.

Hatton Vs Champeta

I wonder if pretty average British boxer, Ricky Hatton, knows that his fan site contains a massive and awesome archive of champeta videos. Somehow I don't think he does.

I particularly like this guy, who has combined a flare-heavy scratch dj style performance with his love for Boca Juniors into his Champeta routine.
